Mock Drafts
ESPN's own helmet head Mel Kiper Jr's current mock draft has the Eagles taking Tim Crowder, DE from Texas. Also on ESPN.com some guy named Todd McShay has the birds taking Anthony Spencer, DE from Purdue. Now I don't know the first thing about Tim Crowder, and I didn't even know Purdue had a football team, but what the hell are these guys talking about?? Is there really a chance that the Eagles are taking a Defensive End with their first round pick? Seriously? To do what? Back up Kearse and Howard? OK, I get it, there's a good chance we're going to lose Juqua Thomas (I had to retype that name four times before I spelled it right, and it still looks wrong to me). But come on, we're talking about a guy who's older than you think (bet you didn't realize he's entering his 7th year) and who we picked up off waivers after being cut from a miserable Tennessee squad in 2005. You're telling me we need to spend a first round pick to replace him?
Is it not obvious to the world that the Eagles NEED to take either a LB or Safety with their first pick (though I'd still be stoked if they took a big RB....a guy can dream, can't he).
Come on Mel and Todd McWhoeveryouare, this is what you do for a living, you've gotta give us something better than a Defensive End in your mock draft!

Here's a couple more:
Profootballtalk.com (best site on the internet) - Zach Miller - TE, Arizona St
Don Banks from CNNSI.com has the Eagles taking Lawrence Timmons - OLB, Florida State (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/don_banks/01/25/mock.draft1.part3/index.html)
I did see another mock draft, can't remember where, that had us taking a safety. Personally, I think secondary should be our #1 focus in the draft, specifically safety. Its amazing how Michael Lewis so quickly went from stud to liability.
A TE is an intriguing position. Its certainly not a priority position, but one that has room for improvement. Don't get me wrong, LJ is serviceable, but he doesn't elevate the offense the way that position should.
However, give me that bruising back and I would forget all of this.
