A Sad Day for Philadelphia Fans
It was a sad day recently for Philadelphia Eagles fans. No, I'm not talking about our play-off loss. I am referring to the coach's current situation with his family. Poor Andy Reid. I listened to the live news conference on KYW (ok, I was really checking the traffic report as I was getting onto the Turnpike), but I heard the news of his leave-of-absence none-the-less. I can sympathize with anyone who has troubled kids (or kids, period). Parenting is a hard job and I can only assume that Coach Reid and his wife have tried their hardest at raising good sons. So, he's doing what a good father should do, and taking the time off to stand by his kids and support them.
My husband was recently explaining to me that even though the Super Bowl has come and gone, football never ends. Well apparently you can take time off from football. If Andy Reid can do it, why not the rest of you?
With love and peace,

Take time off from football??!!?? With coach Reid out for a few weeks this is the time that we have to pay MORE attention. Somebody has to pick up the slack!
NOT FOR YOUR HUSBAND.
it's a choice -- football or family -- it's up to coach reid to decide.
To the Football Widow:
I can totally sympathize with your situation. I have oftened looked on puzzled at my husband who still insists on recording every football talk show during the day (and never watches). He says he needs to be aware of what's going on and like your husband, says "football is never over". I am hoping that with the birth of our child in a couple of months, his attitude may change.
What women like this "Other Widow" fail to see is their own compulsive behaviors, like at Nordstrom's, or in reality shows like "Nick & Jessica" or "The Girls Next Door." At least my wife is understanding, not like this "Other Widow."
Dear Football Widow: I sympathize with you. I'm a Baseball Widower. It's harder for me because baseball starts now and doesnt end until October. There are 162 games in the real season, not just 16. But to tell you the truth, the real Football widow that I really feel sorry for is Andy Reid's wife. She really needs his help. His taking time off is nice, but he should try and spend more time at home with his wife and kids before it's too late.
Love,
The Baseball Widower
